Oaxaca Education Fund 5K Walk
Oaxaca Education Fund 5K Walk: For over 30 years OLMC parishioners served the migrant workers who lived in the fields between Peñasquitos and Del Mar. Over that time, we developed deep connections with these men and with their families in the Mixtec region of Oaxaca, Mexico. The Oaxaca Education Fund helps to support 50 orphans in the towns the men come from. We provide school supplies for 1500 children, and tuition assistance to university students. We are so proud to have helped 22 young people graduate from college; currently we are assisting 17 college students stay on the path to graduation.
Please help us with our fundraising by coming to our 5K Walk on Saturday, March 22, in Canyonside Park. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. A donation of $20.00 is requested to register; children under 14 walk free. All donations are tax deductible. Look for the white pop-up behind ball field #4. Please see our website for information, photos, or to donate online: www.oaxacaeducationfund.org . Questions? Email drchristauriawelland@gmail.com or call or text Marti at 858-437-4001.
